INTRODUCTION
- WorryKeepers is an app that provides a safe platform for users to express their concerns anonymously or share them with a supportive community. Users can connect with others facing similar issues, chat, and collaboratively resolve worries. Once resolved, they can document how they overcame their concerns for future reference. The app is designed to be remote and asynchronous, allowing users to access it anytime, anywhere, and receive flexible support from others.
PROBLEM STATEMENT
- How can WorryKeepers create a safe, accessible, and supportive platform for individuals to confidentially express their worries, connect with a community of peers facing similar challenges, and track their progress toward resolving concerns– all while maintaining their comfort and privacy, ultimately enhancing their emotional well-being?
APPROACH
- We utilised the Double Diamond design to deliver this project, iteratively developed through four steps: (1) discover, (2) define, (3) develop, and (4) deliver.
DESIGN IMPLEMENTATION
- We conducted an evaluation on our first prototype using a combination of observational and query techniques– post-task walkthroughs and questionnaires. Along with an affinity diagram to organise themes identified.
- Our final design was improvised based on analysed data from user evaluation using Qualtrics to enhance usability.
DISCUSSION
- Our app allows users to express, track, and resolve their worries. In cases where users do not know how to solve their worries or do not want to share them with family and friends, they can receive support from our app.
- In our design process, we found that users preferred a simpler interface, as overly complex information made it difficult for them to locate main features. Therefore, in the final design, we simplified our buttons and navigation bar. This improvement follows a minimalist style, making the interface easier for users to operate.
- I was pleased to witness WorryKeepers develop from ideation to a fully functional prototype, utilising technology to improve people’s well-being.
